Back-vented units are generally used when the ceiling height is lower than 8 feet. If there is not enough room to duct the range hood from the top (standard), then rear venting may be the only option. Our Twister and Twister Max range hoods can both be back-vented if requested at the time of purchase. When a unit is back-vented, the duct opening will be directly at the back of the hood. This type of installation will require more work in order to ensure that the ducting lines up and is sealed correctly. Please speak with a professional before purchasing your range hood to ensure that you have selected the best options for your situation.
